I am a PhD student in Health and Biomedical Informatics at Indiana University Indianapolis, advised by Dr. Saptarshi Purkayastha.
My research interests lie at the intersection of artificial intelligence and healthcare, with a focus on multimodal learning, medical image analysis, medical data mining, medical LLMs, and clinical AI, with the goal of building systems that support more informed and reliable decision-making.
Prior to my PhD studies, I spent five years as a healthcare IT project manager at China Mobile Yunnan, leading large-scale digital health initiatives that grounded my understanding of real-world clinical systems.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, with a concentration in machine learning and controls. During my time at UCSD, I was a research assistant in the Statistical Visual Computing Lab (SVCL), advised by Prof. Nuno Vasconcelos, where I worked on developing a deep learning-based plankton image labeling and retrieval system. I also conducted research on a conformal ultrasonic device under the guidance of Prof. Sheng Xu in Xu Research Group.
Grounded in both engineering research and real-world healthcare operations, I aim to build clinical AI systems that translate complex, heterogeneous data into insights clinicians can trust and act on.
Feel free to reach out if you’d like to connect or collaborate.
